Membership Engagement

"Members are encouraged to reach out to others—welcoming all women—to invite them to join United Methodist Women, a place to nurture faith, experience and community and to engage in mission. The membership of United Methodist Women is voluntary and open to all women who are committed and engaged in mission and who affirm the PURPOSE. You don't have to be a member of the United Methodist Church to be a member of United Methodist Women."

From UMW on a Path for Mission

 

will be the theme of the 19th quadrennial Assembly, Columbus, Ohio, May 18-20, 2018.

Assembly 2018 will be a forum for UMW members, new friends and partners to gather, worship and learn about the needs of women, children and youth in the 21st century. They will be claiming their 150-year history as women who know how to organize and serve and are willing to be challenged to grow in their faith as they build deeper connections with one another, church leaders and partners in the work of justice for all God's children.

The Assembly website, www.UMWAssembly.org,  will officially launch in March of 2017 with regular updates on the event. Registration for the event will open Sept. 1, 2017.

Goals

  • Conference officers to attend at least 2 District Events annually outside of their own District.
  • Conference Leadership Team will work to increase attendance by members at all 2018 conference events.
  • Increase membership in local units by at least 2 members.
  • Districts are encouraged to set some goals to blend with the Conference goals.
