UMM virtual gathering featuring former Tulsa youth director

The General Commission on United Methodist Men will host the 2021 Virtual National Men’s Gathering on Aug. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Keynote speakers will be Rev. Ron Bell and the Rev. Tom Albin, a former youth director for Tulsa-First.

Albin is the executive director of the United Christian Ashrams International and president of Albin Consulting. He recently retired as the director of spiritual formation and congregational life for The Upper Room, a branch of The United Methodist Discipleship Ministries in Nashville, Tennessee. Albin served as a youth director at Tulsa-First before attending seminary at Fuller Theological Seminary. He has since authored several books, articles and reference works. He will be speaking on Evangelism and Discipleship.

Fellow keynote speaker Bell is an author and the senior pastor of Camphor Memorial UMC in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has written articles for the Upper Room, UMNews, and created an ongoing webinar with various nonprofits. He will be speaking on Combating and Healing the Trauma of Racism.
