Shattering the Stained Glass initiative makes new resources available to ministry leaders
The Shattering the Stained Glass initiative has started its next resource offerings for ministry leaders in the Oklahoma Conference.
“Stained glass windows can bring beauty to our spaces of worship, but they can also hide the flaws and cracks in our structure,” said Rev. Bessie Hamilton in the initiative’s first resource video. “Sometimes, things must break to be made whole.”
The initiative is designed to help ministry leaders address racism in the church. Videos and other resources will be made available each month to help leaders mentor church members as they learn about recognizing racist systems and learning what it means to dismantle them.
Several pastors and leaders in the Oklahoma Conference have been asked to help provide content for the initiative, including Rev. Michael Long, who helps chair the Minority Local Church Concerns committee.
