Students at Checotah Middle School teamed up with Checotah UMC’s Methodist Mission Food Pantry to raise over $590 and collect 1,175 canned food items for the mission’s food pantry, which distributes food items three days a week. Eden Chapel UMC in Perkins performed three baptisms Sunday, November 20. The three ladies baptised included the church’s youngest and oldest sisters in Christ. Photo by Barbara Wells.

Piedmont United Methodist Church teamed up with animal rescue Pets & People Humane Society in Yukon for a pet blessing at the organization’s dog park. In addition to blessings, families had the opportunity to do whole-family portraits, plus peruse pop-up sales and learn about the benefits of adoption.

Lawton First and Lawton Heights UMC churches partnered with another local church for the Thanksgiving Giveaway. The churches, along with high school and Scout volunteers, distributed food to around 600 families. Leftover food was donated to local food pantries.






Lighthouse UMC held its annual community Thanksgiving meal November 16. The large gathering fed multiple people and offered opportunities to get to know neighbors. Submitted photos.

Lambuth UMC partnered with The Education and Employment Ministry (TEEM) to provide the perfect Thanksgiving meal for six families impacted by the criminal justice system.
