Ministry in a Minute

In October, the United Methodist church in Meadowcreek dedicated a new blessing box: Critters at the Creek.

Critters at the Creek is a creation of the Meadowcreek UMC Pet Ministry. The box contains food for dogs and cats, toys, leashes, collars, and other pet needs.

Church member Frank Short built the pet box. The church sponsors it as well as a more traditional blessing box filled with groceries and other items.

The blessing box at Meadowcreek was the first one sponsored in their community, according to church member Linda Wilson. Their original blessing box was created by Oklahoma Blessing Boxes. The organization has built blessing boxes for several United Methodist congregations in the state.
