The United Methodist Church in Hunter is celebrating its 125 years anniversary on Sept. 15. The church was founded in the home of O. W. Benson in 1894, 13 years before Oklahoma statehood. Pastor Mary Truitt said all are invted to the celebration at 9:30 a.m. and the catered lunch at 11 a.m. “We believe that God can do big things with small packages, and this gives us hope and strength to continue to work together to serve others around us at a time when so many small churches are struggling,” Truitt said.
Circle of Care Lutie
Duncan-St. Paul recently celebrated “For the Love of Lutie” in honor of Lutie M. McClennen, a long-time member who passed away in March 2018. As part of the celebration, Circle of Care was presented with a check of nearly $224,000 provided for in her will.
