Ice storm hits Canyon Camp

11/13/2020

Several large tree limbs cover the ground at Hammock Heaven, a favorite area for campers to relax while staying at Canyon Camp.
An early ice storm hit western Oklahoma on Oct. 27, causing power outages for more than 300,000 people.

David Combs, director of Canyon Camp, said the camp was without power for several days. Several camp areas were also affected by damaged trees.

“The recent ice storm has left our beloved Canyon Camp a mess,” Combs said. “We would gladly appreciate any and all volunteer work groups, financial assistance and prayers.”

For more information, call the camp at 405-542-6967.
