FAQs for Annual Conference
The 2020 Annual Conference session will be conducted via Zoom webinar with technical support provided by GNTV beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21.
When will the clergy executive session be held?
The clergy session will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 3 p.m. Separate information will be sent to clergy.
What if I have not yet registered?
Members must be registered in order to participate in the Annual Conference Session. There will be no opportunity to register on the day of the Annual Conference.
What if I am not a voting member but want to watch the AC session?
Only voting members will have access to the webinar. Everyone else will be able to watch a livestream of the session at the conference website.
When will I receive my voting identification number?
All members of the conference will receive a unique voter identification number which will be required for voting. You should have received an email the week of Nov. 9 with your number. If you do not receive it by week’s end, please check your spam folder or contact Mary Myers (mmyers@okumc.org) at the conference office.
Where can I find the Pre-Conference Materials?
Those are available as a free PDF on our Annual Conference hub on the website. This page also includes a video explanation of the proposed 2021 budget, an overview of the Pension/Health report, and a proposed conference ministry team restructure.
What will be happening at the session?
Only the items approved and set by the agenda committee will be considered at this session. Here is the day’s agenda.
Will retired and deceased clergy be remembered and honored?
Yes. The opening worship service will include a memorial for clergy and spouses who have died between March 20, 2019 and June 30, 2020. Retired clergy will be honored with a video on Saturday morning just before lunch.
Where can I learn more about how to participate in the session as a member?
We have scheduled four online training sessions with our tech team from GNTV. We strongly encourage every member to attend one of these sessions.
This will be the best time to ask questions as well as test equipment and work out any technical issues with the A/V team. You can access those webinars here. There will also be a recorded session on the AC hub in case you cannot participate in a live session.
Where can I read/watch more about how to vote or be recognized, etc.?
GNTV has some helpful information on its website at gntv.info/zoom
What if my computer does not have a camera and microphone?
Attendees do not need cameras, but they do need microphones. You can join the meeting using your smart phone or tablet.
Go to GNTV’s help page gntv.info/zoom to learn more about voting using a mobile device. You can call in and listen with just a phone number, however, you must have web access in order to vote.
Where can I get tech help during the session?
If you have a technical problem during the session, connect with GNTV by call or text at 478-245-4042.
