Conferences coming to OKUMC
Multiple conferences will be held in the Oklahoma Conference in August and September. One will be held by the Oklahoma Conference, one will be hosted by an extension ministry, and one held at a local church.
Re-Shape, a worship planning retreat, will be held on Aug. 14-17 at the Church of the Resurrection Student Center. The event is co-sponsored by the Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas. Members of the Oklahoma Conference are invited to attend a livestream of the retreat at Oklahoma City University. The worship retreat costs $350 to attend in person and $200 to attend by livestream. CCYM Fall Summit
The Conference Council on Youth Ministry will host its annual elections on Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at OKC-Wesley. The Fall Summit is a day for Methodist youth in Oklahoma to gather for community, worship, and executive team elections. The event is free to attend. Stir Up the Fire!
Stir Up the Fire!, a spiritual renewal conference, will take place on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the Weatherford High School Performing Arts Center. The conference will include teaching, worship, prayer ministry, and connection with others. Sponsors of the conference include Elk City UMC, Liberty Church of Weatherford, First UMC of Weatherford, United Theological Seminary, the Cimarron District and the Oklahoma Conference, the Oklahoma Methodist Foundation, and the Demarise Kitch Memorial Lectureship Fund of First UMC in Weatherford.
