Called conference and delegate elections planned

A special called conference will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, at Church of the Servant in Oklahoma City.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., and seating is by district. The voting platform, provided by GNTV, will require the use of a smart device, like a phone or tablet. Participants are asked to use their cellular data, though WiFi will be available if needed.
Church of the Servant has offered meals for $10 each, which can be ordered in advance during registration. Nursery services will be provided for those who mark the need for childcare during registration.
The registration deadline is April 10, and the registration form is available here. The pre-conference workbook is available here. Guest seating is limited, so all who plan to come should register in advance to guarantee seating.
Church of the Servant has a mission-driven gift shop, Earthglow, which is less than $20,000 away from hitting the benchmark of distributing over a million dollars since opening. The shop will be open on the day of the called conference.
Questions may be directed to ac2023@okumc.org.
The Judicial Council of the United Methodist Church has ruled that annual conferences are allowed to hold elections during this year’s sessions to fill in their delegations as clergy and laity have been removed due to disaffiliations from the UMC. Five clergy and nine laity positions are open for elections to be held on Tuesday, May 23, during Annual Conference. Interested lay nominees should fill out an information sheet by April 23.
General Conference will be held April 23 to May 3, 2024, in Charlotte, NC, and Jurisdictional Conference will be July 10 to 13, 2024, in Little Rock, AR. Nominees should plan to attend both conferences, plus periodic delegation meetings in person and via Zoom.
Questions can be addressed to delegation heads Dr. Don Kim, laity, at layleader@okumc.org or Rev. Dr. Joe Harris, clergy, at jharris@okumc.org.
