Annual CCYM Youth Summit returns
The Conference Council on Youth Ministry has announced that the annual CCYM Youth Summit will return this year after being canceled last year due to COVID-19.
This year’s theme is “Called to Serve.” The theme is based on Mark 10:45, which states “For the human one didn’t come to serve but rather to serve and to give his life to liberate many people” (CEB).
Adult co-chairs Corey Shirey and Kyla Powers shared about the event’s return in an emailed announcement on Sept. 2.
“Youth ministry is still alive in Oklahoma,” the statement said. “At this years’ Summit, all youth will have the opportunity to worship and fellowship with others from all across our conference.”
The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at OKC-Village, located at 2501 W. Britton Rd. in Oklahoma City. Registration will take place from 9:30 to 10 a.m., and lunch will be provided to those who register before Sept. 25.
In addition to worship and fellowship, election of officers for the 2021-2022 CCYM Executive Team will take place. All interested youth should select which office they may want to run for in the online registration. Paperwork for election nominations will take place at the event itself.
