AC 2022 will be held in person
Registration for the 2022 Oklahoma Annual Conference is open. The annual conference will be held at Oklahoma City University and OKC-St. Luke’s from May 23-26. It will be the first in-person annual conference since 2019.
The conference will include legislative business and ministry reports, but a vote on the 2023 budget will take place at a special called conference to be held in October.
The first full day of the conference will be held on Aldersgate Day which commemorates the time when John Wesley’s heart was strangely warmed. Wesleyan scholar Dr. Stephen Gunter, a retired member of the Oklahoma Conference, will offer the day’s opening remarks.
This year’s special offering will go toward the Circle of Care Boys Ranch capital campaign. Funds will support four new homes, recreational development and improvements, infrastructure improvements, office renovation, and other improvements. The funding will help expand the ranch’s capacity to care for 24 children and teenagers at once.
There will be three pre-conference briefings online to ensure members have all the information they need. Each session will contain identical information. Trainings will be held on May 3 at 3 p.m., May 5 at 7 p.m., and May 7 at 10 a.m. More information will be sent during the last week of April.
Several special events will take place during the conference. A benefit concert to benefit stained glass window repair in the Angie Smith Chapel. NSO will host two centennial celebration events that were meant to take place in 2020 but were delayed by the pandemic. There will also be various special lunches that members can register to attend.
