Ginghamsburg pastor presents Lemon Lectures on March 27
Noted United Methodist pastor Mike Slaughter from Ginghamsburg, Ohio, will present the 2014 Martha Jean Lemon Special Lectures on March 27 in Oklahoma City.
Known for his creative leadership and passion for serving others, Rev. Slaughter will make three presentations on the topic “Change the World: Becoming a Missional Church.”
His first address will be at 1 p.m. in the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel on the campus of Oklahoma City University. This will be followed by presentations at 4 and 7 p.m. at OKC-Church of the Servant.
At a 5:30 p.m. dinner, Slaughter will engage in question-and-answer time at Church of the Servant. Beginning March 7, tickets for the dinner, $12, can be purchased online at churchoftheservant.com. Seating for the dinner is limited.
For the 4 and 7 o’clock lectures, childcare is available for preschool and infant children, by reservation only; sign up at churchoftheservant.com, begginning March 7.
Many people also have been blessed through Slaughter’s books, which include “UnLearning Church” and “Dare to Dream: Creating a God-Sized Mission Statement for Your Life.” Cokesbury will provide a book table at the Church of the Servant events.
