South Central Jurisdiction -- Mission interpreter ready to share stories
A member of the Southwest Texas Conference, Becky Harrell now serves as mission interpreter for the South Central Jurisdiction (SCJ), which includes the churches in Oklahoma.
She is available to share the stories of UMC mission projects and missionaries with congregations, districts, and conferences. Contact her at bharrell@umcmission.org.
Harrell’s life in mission service began when she took part in a Volunteers In Mission project, which led to an Individual Volunteer opportunity in Iquique, Chile, in 2002. She was commissioned in 2006 as a missionary.
She served in Chile more than seven years, then was assigned in 2009 to Latin American Biblical University in Costa Rica.
Harrell lives in New Braunfels, Texas. A breast cancer survivor, she is a former Reach-to-Recovery trainer for the American Cancer Society.

Canyon Camp to host SCJ disaster training
On Sept. 8-11 at Canyon Camp, a jurisdiction-wide Disaster Response Academy will be presented by the jurisdiction and the United Methodist Committee on Relief. Scholarships will be available.
