On Jan. 21, Bishop Scott Jones will speak to all Oklahoma’s clergy during the Orders Meeting, at OKC-St. Luke’s UMC.

His afternoon presentation: "The Wesleyan Way."

The day opens with worship at 10 a.m. Bishop Hayes will preach. Lunch will be provided.

The offering will go to the Clergy Crisis Fund.

On Jan. 1, Bishop Jones became episcopal leader of the Great Plains Conference.

Research on John Wesley was key in Jones’ doctoral work at Southern Methodist University.

In 2013, he published "The Wesleyan Way — A Faith That Matters." The Conference Media Library has the DVD kit.

"When Christians were first identified as a separate group, they were called people who belonged to ‘the Way’ (Acts 9:2)," Jones posted in a MinistryMatters blog on Dec. 1.

"When I first started learning the Wesleyan Way, it gave me a framework to resolve some of the biggest and most important questions of my life."

All clergy under appointment are expected to attend the semi-annual Orders Meeting.
