Ceremonies in mid-October officially open case-management centers in Shawnee and El Reno for the Oklahoma Disaster Recovery Project, a collaboration by five major nonprofits, including The United Methodist Church. A third center is in Moore. Far left, Richard Norman helps wield the ribbon-cutting scissors at the Shawnee center. Rev. Norman is UM disaster response coordinator, in the Conference’s Office of Mission, and chairs Oklahoma VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster).
