Passages Rev. Harold E. Himes, 87, of Yukon died July 21, 2013. Harold was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Sterling. He graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary. In 1956 he married Jonnye Bishop. She died suddenly, leaving him a single father with two young children. In 1967 he married Lilly Cox Roberson and gained two more children. Rev. Himes’ ministry career began in 1956, and he officially retired in 1990. He served churches in Lawton, Tipton, Minco, Chickasha, Ponca City, McAlester, Skiatook, Avant, Kingfisher, Cordell, and Bethany; and in Springer, N.M. Survivors include his wife, Lilly; children Rev. Jeannie Himes of OKC-Douglas Boulevard, David Himes, Pam Roberson, and Angie Hildenbrand; seven grandchildren, including Andrew Himes of the Conference communications staff; and four great-grandchildren. Service was July 25 at St. Mark’s UMC, Bethany. Memorial gifts to: United Methodist Circle of Care or St. Mark’s UMC. Ron S. Smith, 72, of Shawnee died June 20, 2013. He was the husband of Rev. Trinnette Smith, retired deacon. Ron was born Oct. 5, 1940. He had a long career in print technology, retiring in 2011 as owner of Glo Press in Shawnee. Ron and Trinnette married on Aug. 25, 1961, at Draper Street Methodist Church, Shawnee. He was a longtime member of St. Paul’s UMC, Shawnee, and a member of Broadway UMC, Tecumseh. Survivors include his wife, Rev. Smith; daughters Pam Hodges, Kathy Dillon, and Sarah Bishop; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Service was June 22 at Shawnee-St. Paul’s. Memorial gifts to: Broadway UMC or St. Paul’s UMC. Sharron Jean Paddack, 63, of Borger, Texas, died May 4, 2013. She was the wife of Rev. Danny Earl Paddack. Sharron was born Feb. 16, 1950, in Clovis, N.M. She and Danny married on Sept. 10, 1966. He began Disability Leave in 1991 and officially retired this year. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Paddack; children Danny Paddack, Scarlet Stalcup, Wendy Mills, and William Paddack; and 13 grandchildren. No service was scheduled. Bessie Reon Williams, 84, of Wichita, Kan., died July 8, 2013. She was the widow of Rev. Donald P. Williams. Reon was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Oologah. The couple married on April 20, 1946. She directed many choirs and supported women’s and children’s church groups. She taught piano and voice through her 80th year. Survivors include sons Ronald, Dwight, and Mark Williams; daughter Evelyn Williams Roney; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Service was July 15 at Tulsa-Asbury UMC. Memorial gifts to: National Alzheimer’s Foundation. Lois Jeanne Conner Edde, 91, of Oklahoma City died July 1, 2013. She was the widow of Rev. Robert Edde Jr. Jeanne was born April 16, 1922, in Enid. Jeanne and Bob married on May 2, 1942, at Stillwater-First UMC. A chemist, she also taught many years and was a musician. Survivors include children Richard Edde, Kay Holt, and David Edde; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Service was July 20 at OKC-St. Luke’s. Graveside service was private.
