Rev. Donald Scott Waters, 85, of Norman, died Nov. 30, 2012.

Don was born July 12, 1927, in Cherokee. He was a Navy veteran and held a degree in aeronautical engineering. He married Barbara J. Troup on Aug. 5, 1949, in Enid.

An ordained elder, his ministry career in Oklahoma began at Lamont in 1961. He also pastored at Newkirk, Prairie Chapel, Drumright, Tulsa-Trinity, OKC-St. John’s, and Pauls Valley. He retired in 1995.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; children Dan Waters, Cindy Martindale, and Mary Shirazi; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Service was Dec. 4 at McFarlin UMC in Norman.

William R. "Bill" Blake of Manhattan, Kan., died Nov. 12. He was the brother of retired Bishop Bruce Blake, who served the Oklahoma Area 1996-2004.

Carl Rueben Brown of Tacoma, Wash., died Nov. 11. He was the father of Rev. Barbara Brown.

Roy Paul Roman died Nov. 20, in Franklin, Ind. He was the father of Rev. David Roman of Guthrie, a deacon, teaching at Southwestern Christian University, Bethany.

 

Mary Louise Keefe, 85, of Tulsa died Nov. 4, 2012. She was the widow of Rev. John Horace Keefe Jr.

She was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Wichita, Kan. She was a homemaker and a member of Tulsa-Asbury UMC.

The Keefes married on May 4, 1947. He died in 2008.

Survivors include son John Horace Keefe III; daughters Kathy Dinsmore, Carla Richardson, and Linda McCarty; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was Nov. 8 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa.

Birth

Sadie Jane Ware was born Nov. 13, 2012. She is the daughter of Eric and Rev. Elizabeth Horton Ware, director of campus ministries at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford.
