What’s next for the Class of 2012? A brand-new overnight retreat will offer answers, on Aug. 3-4 at Camp Egan, for "Life After High School."
Four workshops and two worship services fill the schedule.
- Try Everything, Don’t Lose Yourself—Camp director Josh Pulver will focus on the social scene and how it can impact a student.
- Owning Your Faith—New experiences bombard college students. How do you know what to believe? How do you make faith a part of the journey? James Hunt, associate pastor at Broken Arrow-First, will lead this class.
- Basic Finance/Stay Out of Debt—Campus ministry director Elizabeth Horton-Ware will lead this session on common financial mistakes that college students make.
- What Is Greek Life?/The MRS Degree—Leader Darren Johnson will discuss fraternities and sororities, as well as the "MRS" label (as in marriage).
- Worship leaders will be Bishop Robert E. Hayes Jr. and Nathan Mattox, senior pastor at Tulsa’s University UMC. Led by Jonathon Garrett, the Wesley@OU praise band will provide music.
Registration deadline is July 23. Camp dean is Janey Wilson, janey@okwesley.org, 405-321-6266.
