A day of service rallied young adults from across the Conference and OKC-Penn Avenue United Methodist Men for landscaping and repair work March 31 at the church that has a vibrant ministry that includes inmates, former inmates, and their families. The two groups also shared a fellowship meal.

Center: Daniel Dean and Mike Scheetz team up to shovel a path for a French drain, while R.J. Garrison prepares next steps for sidewalk improvements. Henson and Adam Shahan co-chair the Conference’s Young Adult Council. The workday at Penn Avenue Church launched the council’s new plan to offer quarterly missions for young adults, Rev. Shahan said.

The spring project fulfilled four primary council goals—justice ministry, worship, fellowship, and mission service, he explained.
