Rev. Dr. Dwight D. Darrah, 84, of Bartlesville died March 26, 2012.
In the 1970s, he was the superintendent of the United Methodist Children’s Home in Tahlequah and the Frances E. Willard Home for Girls in Tulsa. His ministry career extended more than 60 years.
Dwight was born in Oklahoma City on March 31, 1927. He graduated from Oklahoma City University and Boston University.
On Aug. 15, 1951, in Okeene, he married Carolina "Becky" Beckloff. They met while students at OCU.
His first appointment was in 1947. He twice was a district superintendent, leading the former Altus and Ada Districts. He was pastor at El Reno-Ellison Avenue, Laverne, Hinton, Tulsa-Harrison Memorial/Tulsa Lake, Kingfisher, OKC-Mayfair Heights, Tulsa-St. Paul’s, Muskogee-St. Paul’s, and Bartlesville-East Cross. He had been pastor emeritus at East Cross since his retirement in 1992.
His wife predeceased him in 2011.
Survivors include three children, David and Mark Darrah and Linda Darrah Reynolds, and two grandsons.
Service was held March 31 at Boston Avenue Church, Tulsa.
Paulene "Polly" Paschal, 84, of Houston, Texas, died March 28. She was the mother of Rev. Wade Paschal, senior pastor at Tulsa-First UMC.
Richard J. Robart, 88, of Youngstown, Ohio, died March 24. He was the father of Rev. Rick Robart, pastor at Dewey.
Florence Pike, 97, of Auburn, Maine, died April 6. She was the mother of Rev. Roy Pike, retired pastor living at Jenks.
