Free enrollment period will end soon for background screening service
Deadline is Feb. 29 to register free of charge for the background screening services offered by Trak-1 to local churches in the Oklahoma Conference. Starting March 1, a church signing up with Trak-1 will pay a $100 set-up fee. Oklahoma Conference policy requires churches to maintain Safe Sanctuaries standards. This protocol includes screenings for all staff and volunteers who work with children, youths, and vulnerable adults. When Trak-1 was authorized in 2011 as the provider for Conference-level screenings, the nationwide service firm agreed to offer the no-fee setup for a limited time to local churches. A local church is not required to use Trak-1, but every church is required to have background screenings processed through an authorized provider. The online system operated by Trak-1 enables better sharing of information between local churches and the Conference, explained Diana Northcutt, director of Discipleship. Under the negotiated pricing for the Oklahoma Conference, local churches enrolled with Trak-1 are eligible for the same Conference rate of $9 per person for a basic background check.
