Wesley volunteers assist Habitat for Humanity
11/11/2011
Twenty-four Oklahoma City University students participated in the annual Wesley Center day of volunteering with Habitat for Humanity on Oct. 22. Students of many majors, including dance, nursing, and religion, took part, as well as members of DAX, the Christian men’s service fraternity. The group worked on two houses scheduled for dedication within a few days. The work included painting the garages and trim, cleaning bathrooms and floors, clearing brush and laying sod, and installing doorknobs and locks. The OCU women’s softball team also was working for the charity that day, and the student-athletes joined the Wesley group that afternoon to prepare one house. This workday is one of the many ways OCU serves beyond its own campus. |
