• Rev. Kenneth W. Howard, 82, of Cathedral City, Calif., died July 30, 2011. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 17 at Boston Avenue UMC in Tulsa. He was born on April 20, 1929. A graduate of Southern Methodist University and Duke Divinity School, he did post-graduate study in England and Australia. He had toured in 92 countries. His ministry began in 1951, and he retired in 1991. He was director of United Methodist Cooperative Ministries (now Restore Hope) in Tulsa for more than eight years. Churches he served included Lambuth and Penn Avenue in Oklahoma City; Tulsa’s Memorial Drive, Harvard Avenue, and Boston Avenue, where he was an associate pastor; Grove; Harrah; Stroud; Vinita; and Big Cabin. Survivors include his children, Mark Howard of McKinney, Texas, Kevin Howard of Ardmore, Shannon Howard-Bravo and Meredith Howard, both of Tulsa; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. • Richard G. Pawley, 77, of Claremont, Calif., died Aug. 12. He was the father of Rev. Pam Cottrill, pastor at Blackwell UMC. • Wanda Lou Perceful, 87, died Aug. 14. Revs. Ron and Wendee Perceful, pastors at OKC-St. Matthew, are her son and daughter-in-law, and Rev. Chad Perceful, associate pastor at East Cross UMC, Bartlesville, is a grandson. • June Hutson, 81, of El Reno died Aug. 24. She was the mother of Rev. Kim Hutson, pastor at Hulbert. Birth Xander James Hodson was born Aug. 26, 2011, in Dallas. His parents are Joelle and Rev. Phil Hodson, pastor at Calera and a student at Perkins School of Theology. |
