Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church

A message of gratitude, fond memories from the McDaniels

Tom and Brenda McDaniel

On July 1, Brenda and I completed 10 years at Oklahoma City University, and we are now moving on to a new opportunity with American Fidelity Foundation.

Our time at OCU has been the most rewarding, exciting, and inspirational experience of our life. It was made so in great measure by the unflagging support of Bishop and Mrs. Hayes, and Oklahoma United Methodists, both clergy and laity.

Many changes occurred during this past decade, in our physical facilities with new buildings, in our scholarship programs with expanded funding for United Methodists and others, in our academic and athletic programs, in endowment growth, and many other ways.

Most significantly we forged a partnership which brought Saint Paul School of Theology to OCU. We already are seeing the results in having a United Methodist seminary helping fill our pulpits now and for decades to come.

There is a spirit at OCU that is unique. It results from committed students, dedicated faculty, loyal alums, and a sense of service to others inspired by our Church. This gives us all confidence that our school will continue to produce servant leaders for generations to come.

Brenda and I leave OCU with heartfelt gratitude for the support and encouragement of Oklahoma United Methodists. Thank you for everything, and may God continue to bless OCU.
