Expert to lead August event

Make plans to attend the Oklahoma United Methodist Foundation’s Stewardship Focus Day on Aug. 26 in Oklahoma City at United Methodist Church of the Servant.

Pastors and church leaders from across the state will gather for the Friday seminar featuring Clif Christopher, a church stewardship expert.

Rev. Dr. Christopher consults nationwide on church growth and finance. He authored "Not Your Parents’ Offering Plate" and the follow-up book "Whose Offering Plate Is It?"

About Clif Christopher

Clif Christopher founded Horizons Stewardship Co. in 1992, following a challenging career in pastoral ministry. As a pastor, he led numerous major building and capital campaigns in churches ranging from 350 to 2,000 members. Through Horizons, he has led consultations in more than 400 churches in all phases of building, finance, and church growth. In 1995 he was given the National Circuit Rider Award by the denomination for outstanding leadership in developing vital congregations.

Rev. Dr. Christopher has been an ordained United Methodist minister since 1975. He is married and has four children. He is a graduate of Hendrix College and Emory University. He was awarded a doctorate in 2001 by Philander Smith College.
