CORR CREATIVITY
10/1/2010
During a workshop titled "In Our Own Voices," sisters Chelsea Riley of Cushing and Briana Tobey of Oklahoma City begin to fill a banner with figures representing diverse people, while Gary Holdeman of Enid tells a story about racial justice to Myungim Kim of the General Commission on Religion & Race (GCORR), Washington, D.C. They were attending the Sept. 10-11 Oklahoma Conference CORR retreat at Canyon Camp. Rev. Kim challenged participants to become intentional about sharing personal narratives. "When stories are well told, people get the point, feel hope, and are moved to action," she said. Then they will join in work to overcome racism and build relationships between all people.
