Justine Smith presents Willson Lectures on Oct. 7
Oklahoma City University welcomes Justine Smith as the 2010 Willson lecturer. Topic of the lectures this year is "Future: Rememory, Christian Performance, and Native Sovereignty." Professor Smith is the Visiting Instructor of Biblical and Native American Studies at Saint Paul School of Theology at OCU. She is a member of the Cherokee Nation. She holds the Master of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and expects to receive her Ph.D. from Harvard University next year. On Oct. 7, three lectures comprise the Willson series. The first presentation will be a sermon during the 1 p.m. weekly chapel service in the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel. Subsequent lectures will begin at 3 and 7 p.m. in Watson Lounge, located in the basement of the chapel building. All lectures are free and open to the public.
