Baroness Emma Nicholson to speak in chapel

OCU is honored to welcome Baroness Emma Nicholson as the speaker April 29 in the final chapel service of the school year.

Her presentation will be at 1 p.m. that Thursday in the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel.

She is a former member of the British House of Commons and the European Parliament and now serves in the House of Lords. She is respected as a tireless humanitarian who works primarily for the rights of women and children.

Baroness Nicholson is the founder and executive chairperson of AMAR International Charitable Foundation, which works to improve education, provide medicine, and meet basic needs of refugees in Lebanon and Iraq.

Since 2002, she has served as the World Health Organization (WHO) envoy on Health, Peace, and Development.

A reception and question time will follow the chapel service. Everyone is invited.
