Harker to lead women’s event
Linda Harker will lead a Spiritual Growth Retreat for all women on April 9-11 at Camp Egan.
The annual weekend event is sponsored by United Methodist Women. Theme is "Let’s Get Together!"
Rev. Harker will direct the women in a study of Elijah, based on I Kings 19:9b-13. She stated, "God asked of Elijah, hiding out in a cave, ‘What are you doing here?’ As we ‘get together,’ we’ll spend time with the question."
Harker is Muskogee District superintendent. Born in England, she is a graduate of Oklahoma City University and Phillips Theological Seminary.
She has served on missions in Central America and, in Oklahoma, at Cookson Hills Center, the CJAMM New Day Camp for children with incarcerated parents, and Tulsa’s Laura Dester Shelter for children.
Deadline is March 29 to sign up for the retreat. Housing will be in Holliman Lodge and cabins. Registration fee includes two nights’ lodging and four meals. Registrar is Cindy Hull of Waynoka, firstname.lastname@example.org.
