Registration is open for a Marriage Encounter United Methodist Weekend on July 18-20 in Tulsa.
The event is sponsored by Claremore-First UMC. Married couples who participate in this program focus only on each other — away from jobs, children, chores, and phones.
Bill and Linda Polson of Claremore said if you would like greater depth, growth, and enrichment in your marriage, you will like the difference this special weekend can make. They chair the church’s Marriage and Family Enrichment Committee.
The Clarion Inn at the Tulsa airport is location for the retreat. Cost is $50.

National nurse award goes to Morgan
On April 10, Andrea Morgan of the Epworth Villa staff was named Director of Nursing of the Year by the 14,000-member American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination.
Epworth Villa is a United Methodist-related nonprofit retirement community in Oklahoma City.
The association’s award honors long-term-care professionals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their daily work. Its website stated that Morgan serves as a mentor, exceptional leader, and champion of culture change.

In the darkened church, dressed in clothing representative of biblical times, Rev. Talley told the Crucifixion story through the eyes of Peter. Digital thunder and lightning added emphasis as he extinguished candles one-by-one during his storytelling.
