Bishop Nunn announces Cabinet appointments
Rev. Dr. Charles Graves has effectively served the Cimarron and Clinton Districts in the last eight years. He currently serves as the secretary to the cabinet. At the conclusion of this appointive year, he will enter a retired relationship with the Annual Conference. We celebrate his service to the church throughout his career.
For the past eight years, Rev. Dr. Tish Malloy has effectively served the Crossroads, Northern Prairie, and Stillwater Districts. She currently serves as dean of the cabinet. She will be appointed as Director of Transitional Ministries, which will support local churches in processes of transition, as we strategically engage changing community demographics, emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, and process denominational issues. The position will not impact local church apportionments.
Drs. Malloy and Graves were honored with Doctor of Divinity degrees from Oklahoma City University in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the conference and church. I express my sincere gratitude to both superintendents for jobs well done.
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Dr. Diana Northcutt as the incoming superintendent serving the Cimarron District. She will leave her current appointment in Iowa to return home to the Oklahoma Conference.
It is also my pleasure to announce the appointment of Rev. Dr. Sam Powers as the incoming superintendent serving the Crossroads District. His current appointment is at First United Methodist Church in Edmond.
Both future superintendents bring vast experience and essential expertise to the cabinet and unique gifts that will enable them to serve both the conference and district effectively.
The effective dates for these appointments will be July 1, 2021.
I invite us to celebrate the ministries and pray for the outgoing and incoming superintendents.
