This Sunday serves to remind the church of the contributions made by Native Americans to our society. One-half of the offering will be used by the Annual Conference to develop and strengthen Native American Ministries. The balance will be used by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry to provide scholarships for Native Americans attending United Methodist schools of theology. CELEBRATION OF MINISTRY SUNDAY
The goal of “Ministry Sunday” is to make the moving process less stressful for our clergy and give them more time to get acquainted with the church family.The second Sunday after Annual Conference has been designated “Ministry Sunday” as approved by 2008 Annual Conference.
 
LAITY SUNDAY  - Oklahoma Conference Lay Speakers  
Celebrates the ministry of all Christians as the Holy Spirit empowers their lives for ministry. Is observed the third Sunday in October. 
 
ORGAN AND TISSUE DONOR SUNDAY
Calls United Methodists to honor the gift of life by including the topic of organ and tissue donation in the worship service. Is observed the second Sunday in November.
