Day of Discernment

The Day of Discernment is an opportunity to gather with other women and men who have some inkling that God might be calling them to ministry in the Church, life and community of The United Methodist Church as an ordained Deacon or Elder.

It is not a commitment to enter the candidacy process. This discernment event is simply an opportunity to explore and see if the UMC and our Oklahoma Conference is a group of men and women with whom God is calling you to live and minister with.

However, if you are in the Candidacy process this will be a great place for you to ask questions and to meet others who are on a similar journey.

The participants will have time in worship to pray discerning God's call in their lives. At these events we look at the biblical concept of vocation, listen to others share about their call to ministry and begin to assist you as you discern God’s call on your heart.

The Day of Discernment happens once a year.
