In memoriam

Rev. Charles Holt Richardson, 82, of Tulsa died Dec. 7, 2011. His ministry career included serving as South Oklahoma City District superintendent, executive director of Oklahoma Methodist Manor, and on the staff at Tulsa-Asbury.

Charles was born Nov. 4, 1929, in Ray City.

Churches he pastored are OKC-Grace, Durant-First, Mangum-First, Sulphur-First, Mooreland, and Goodrich Memorial in Norman. He was an associate at Tulsa’s Boston Avenue. He retired in 1997.

Charles and Anna Richardson moved to Oklahoma Methodist Manor in 1998.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Anna Louise Arnold Richardson; children Beth, Charlie, and Thomas, and three grandchildren; stepchildren Trish and Amy, and five stepgrandchildren. He was predeceased by wife Margaret Wilson Richardson in 1983.

Service was Dec. 9 at Tulsa-Asbury.

Rev. Robert Leonard Majors, 82, of Oklahoma City died Dec. 9, 2011. He had ministered for 60 years, including service as McAlester District superintendent.

Robert was born Dec. 27, 1928.

Churches he pastored include: Moore-First, OKC-Wickline, Chickasha-Epworth, Sapulpa-First, Tahlequah, Watonga, OKC-Second, Marietta, Blair, Grant/Fort Towson, Jones, and Wanette Trousdale. He officially retired in 1997.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lawanda, on Oct. 25. Their marriage spanned 60 years.

Survivors include son Robleigh Majors and a grandson.

Service was Dec. 14 at Moore-First UMC, with burial at Altus City Cemetery. 

Pearlie Lee Holderread Boyce, 106, of North Manchester, Ind., died Dec. 11, 2011. She was the widow of Rev. Wallace L. Boyce. He died in 1954.

Pearl was born Feb. 24, 1905, in Indian Territory. She earned a home economics degree at McPherson (Kansas) College.

Pearl and Wallace married in 1934. Wallace pastored churches in western and northern Oklahoma, beginning in 1928. Pearl was church secretary for 13 years at Stillwater-First UMC.

Later she moved to live with son Paul Boyce of Wheaton, Ill. In 1995, she moved to North Manchester.

Survivors include her son Paul, daughter Dona Boyce-Manoukian of Arlington, Va., a grandson, and four great-grandchildren.

Service was Dec. 21 at Timbercrest Retirement Center, North Manchester, with burial in Oklahoma.

Greg B. Dery Sr., 65, of Appleton, Wis., died Dec. 8. He was the father of Rev. Brad Dery, pastor at Elmore City.

Betty Virginia Wicker of Talihina died Dec. 13. She was the mother of Rev. T. Shaun Wicker, pastor at Talihina and Tuskahoma.

Birth

Anabelle Ruth Grunow was born Dec. 8, 2011. She is the daughter of Joel and Cheri Grunow, assistant, Addiction Ministries, at the United Methodist Ministry Center.
