GIVING TOTALS $554,000 (OKC-Church of the Servant )

GIVING TOTALS $554,000—The Earthglow shop within OKC-Church of the Servant is celebrating 35 years of supporting missions. Over the years, the fundraising project has given $554,000.

On April 5, 1976, Earthglow opened its doors. The staff always has been all-volunteer.

Initially, handcrafted items were sold on consignment, with a portion of sales given annually to various local missions. At the church, temporary display modules were set up weekly. Creations also were offered at the downtown Arts Festival.

In 1982, a craft show at the church was opened to other vendors, raising more funds through booth rentals. The show has evolved into Market, held at Church of the Servant on the second Saturday of November.

And now Earthglow has a designated room in the church. It operates Sunday mornings and several hours each weekday. The merchandise choices have changed, but the goal is the same: to support worthwhile local missions and help make a difference in the community.
