Free-form worship debuts

The band leads worshippers at Wickline’s first WAVE service.

In Midwest City, a third worship experience made its debut on a Saturday evening at Wickline UMC.

The W.A.V.E. (Wickline’s Active Victory Experience) swept up more than 100 people in attendance Oct. 9.

The free-form worship features prayer stations, Holy Communion, and a band.

Its name is based in Scripture: "His Mercy flows in wave after wave on those who are in awe before Him" (Luke 1:50).

The 6 p.m. service is in the Family Life Center.

Pastor Mark Barnett said the WAVE is one of the ministries developed as Wickline UMC implements its Strategic Plan.
