Update church officers between Dec. 15-31

Between Dec. 15 and 31, each church is required to update information on its 2011 church officers in the Conference’s online database.
This brand-new procedure and its timing are crucial to the accuracy of communications throughout all levels of the Church in Oklahoma. The names, addresses, and other content collected in that specific database are the building blocks for our United Methodist connection.

Where the money goes:
When you give $1 to the regular offering at your church, this is how it is used. 90 cents remains with your local church. 8 cents supports ministry in the district, annual conference, and jurisdiction. 2 cents goes to the denomination’s apportioned funds.

Church premiums increase, Trustees choose new company

The Board of Trustees’ decision to sign with a new insurance carrier requires attention this month by each church in the Conference-sponsored property and liability insurance program.

From Oklahoma, 18 United Methodists will attend the World Methodist Conference on Aug. 4-8 in Durban, South Africa.
Held every five years, the meeting is the World Methodist Council’s 20th global gathering. The council reports 74 member groups, cooperating as members of the Methodist/Wesleyan family, from more than 130 countries.
The 2011 theme is "Jesus Christ—for the Healing of the Nations."

The 44-member Oklahoma Conference delegation has organized for its work leading up to the 2012 General/Jurisdictional Conferences of our denomination.
