Hosting the JETs program was something OKC-Epworth church wanted to make happen for children in the neighborhood.
However, "it’s a big undertaking for a church of our size," said Sherron Hughes-Tremper, pastor of the church, which averages 80 people in worship.

A grant is refueling the Jets after-school program in Oklahoma City.
The $15,000 award will be used to launch Jets at a third site: OKC-Epworth United Methodist Church, 1901 N. Douglas.
Jets is a weekday program for children who live in declining neighborhoods of Oklahoma City.
The program operates through Skyline Urban Ministry, an agency of The United Methodist Church in Oklahoma.
The grant was received from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation and its Fund for Oklahoma City.
