PREPARING TO BEGIN ANEW

The new year will bring a new start for the Wesley House at Northern Oklahoma College, Tonkawa. A group of 46 new campus ministers and chaplains honed their skills, learned about caring for students and growing a faith community on campus, shared best practices, and more during training organized by the UM General Board of Higher Education & Ministry (GBHEM).

Wesley Foundation at OSU changes lives globally
May 6 was an emotional day for Wesley Foundation leaders and students at Oklahoma State University. That day, OSU graduate students received their degrees.
Among them were 15 students from Africa, all connected to the UM-related campus ministry.

On July 16, UM Campus Ministries is sponsoring a fun day at White Water Bay in Oklahoma City for all church youth groups.
The water park will open that Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Through the General Board of Higher Education & Ministry (GBHEM), a total of $55,700 in scholarships and loans is assisting college students who are members of churches in the Oklahoma Conference.
The United Methodist Student Day offering may assist a seminary student called to be a pastor or a missionary. Maybe it will enable a student to complete nursing school or get an education degree.

Ten Oklahoma college students attended Student Forum 2009 at Centenary College, Shreveport, La.

The Dee Hayes Fellowship Banquet was held March 13 at Oklahoma State University and sponsored by the United Methodist campus ministry at OSU. Israel Kamudzandu challenged the 110 participants to develop a significant endowment fund for Africa University graduates to attend the OSU School of Agriculture. Campus ministry opens its doors
A new building was consecrated on Feb. 28 for the Wesley Foundation at Langston University.
