Donations have exceeded the goal to fund two new cabins at Canyon Camp.
The additional money is significant; it gives officials hope that the buildings can be ready when summer’s youth camps open.

Camps leaders account for $150,000 in donations, thus far, as they count down to the final day of a campaign to build two new cabins at Canyon.
"We appreciate all who have stepped up to get us this far," said Camps Director Randy McGuire. "We can’t stop now."

As a youth, Josh Pulver often stayed at Camp Egan, especially during the week of Tulsa District Camp in summertime. Now he is making his home there.

Two directors represent all camping ministries in the denomination’s South Central Jurisdiction. One of them is Andre Stravlo of Edmond, Camps’ administrative assistant for the Oklahoma Conference.

Camps prepare to welcome summer guests

Staff and volunteers are prepping the three Conference camps for a shortened summer youth camping season.
June and July will teem with events for young people, due to changes in public schools’ scheduling. Camps Director Randy McGuire noted that winter weather closures forced some education officials to extend the school year deep into May, and the 2010-11 year starts early in August for some schools.

Campus ministry opens its doors
A new building was consecrated on Feb. 28 for the Wesley Foundation at Langston University. Holliman Lodge gains structure as construction advances at Camp Egan in mid-January.
