GRANDFIELD GENEROSITY—Grandfield UMC knew the air conditioning units were well past their prime. It was just a matter of time.
When the Finance chairperson announced $7,200 was needed to replace the two units that supply fellowship hall, church leaders decided to ask for offerings/donations rather than draw from savings or memorial funds.
In just over two weeks, gifts for the project totaled $7,242.63.
Of that amount, $140 was raised by an elementary-school girl, who set up a lemonade stand one Saturday and gave her profits.
"The church is thrilled," reported David and Jana Gardner.
