Michael Potts to retirement from Associates in Psychotherapy (North OKC District), effective Oct. 1.

Wilbur Hathaway to Oilton UMC (Stillwater) from retirement, effective Sept. 1.

Birth

Micah Reilly Noah Tiger was born Oct. 5, 2009. He is the son of Heather and Rev. Aaron Tiger, a commissioned elder of Oklahoma Conference who is attending Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky.

Robert Healey

Rev. Robert Edwin Healey, 85, of Enid died Oct. 5, 2009.

Robert Edwin was born Oct. 22, 1923, in Springfield, Mass. He studied floriculture and was a floral artist early in his work career. He was a World War II veteran.

He also was a certified director of Christian Education. He earned degrees at the University of Tulsa and a teaching certificate at Oklahoma State University. He both studied and taught at Oral Roberts Graduate Seminary.

He married Bobbye-Nell Cass in 1944. She preceded him in death in 2004.

Rev. Healey was baptized in the Jordan River. He began his ministry career in 1960. He served Tulsa-St. Paul’s, Sapulpa-Wesley, Coweta, Porter, Noble, OKC-Eighth Street, Konawa, Sasakwa, Stillwater-Southern Heights, Healdton, Broken Bow, Eagletown, Hobart, and Bethany.

After retiring in 1989, he was chaplain at The Methodist Home in Enid from 1991 to 2003. He also was an interim pastor at Elm Flat Christian Church and Enid Church of the Brethren.

He was active in a number of civic organizations across the years.

Survivors include son Edwin Healey of Aurora, Colo.; daughter Maureen Nichols of Denton, Texas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial service was Oct. 17 at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, Enid.

Eva Wehrman

Eva Jean Wehrman, 78, of Canton died Sept. 30, 2009. She was the wife of Rev. Richard Leon Wehrman, who serves Canton UMC, and mother-in-law of Rev. Charlie Graves, pastor at Woodward-First.

Eva was born Sept. 1, 1931, in southern Illinois. She and Richard Wehrman met at Asbury College and married in 1954.

Beginning in 1955, the couple served as missionaries in the Philippines for about 40 years. Their assignment was through the General Board of Global Ministries. Proficient in two Philippine languages, Mrs. Wehrman often spoke in churches on special Sundays. Her interest in Christian education led to counseling opportunities, development of curriculum, and leadership in Bible studies.

Survivors include her husband; daughters Karen Graves of Woodward and Esther Otero; and grandchildren.

Funeral service was Oct. 2 at Woodward-First; another service was Oct. 3 at Grace UMC in Higginsville, Mo.

B.C. Goodwin Jr.

Rev. Dr. B.C. Goodwin Jr., 83, of Albuquerque, N.M., died Oct. 2, 2009. He was a former member of the Oklahoma Conference. During his ministry career, he served churches in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and West Texas.

Survivors include Mary Lou, his wife of 60 years, of Albuquerque; children Diane Pierce, John Goodwin, J. Paul Goodwin, and Donna Diller; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Service was Oct. 23 at Albuquerque-First UMC.

Annette Wilkes

Annette Germany Wilkes of Lafayette, La., died Sept. 30, 2009. She was the widow of Rev. Jack Wilkes, a former member of the Oklahoma Conference. He died in 1969.

Annette was born in 1918 in Texas. She held a master’s degree in Spanish.

She married Jack Wilkes in 1941, in Dallas. He served in Oklahoma, 1941-1964, then transferred to the Louisiana Conference. He was president of Oklahoma City University, 1957-63.

Mrs. Wilkes later worked in the episcopal office of the North Texas Conference.

Survivors include children, Rev. Rex Wilkes of Oklahoma City, Sally Birdsall of Chico, Texas, Judy Bailey of Denton, Texas, and Susie Blanchard of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren, including Rev. Jack Terrell-Wilkes of Oklahoma City; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service was Oct. 23 at Highland Park UMC, Dallas, where she was a member.
