What is the University Church Network?
The University Church Network is an emerging peer-based network of congregations that are on or adjacent to universities or colleges. While not officially part of the university, the school often plays a central role in congregational identity, presenting unique opportunities and challenges. It is this context that defines the network. The initial gathering of the network is a peer-learning event hosted by University UMC in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Nathan Mattox is the host pastor. The General Board of Discipleship and the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry are providing staff and office support to facilitate the development of the network.
