The Harry Denman Evangelism Award

Evangelism Team
The Discipleship Ministry Team

Our Bishop Robert Hayes is very passionate about Jesus and evangelism.

He recognizes the privilege and joy in actively sharing our faith, as committed United Methodist Christians.

We are looking for clergy and laity who are doing just that effectively in their local church and community.

Harry Denman was an United Methodist layman well known for his tireless efforts to reach one more person for Jesus Christ.  Dr. Maxie Dunnam said that “Harry Denman was a person filled with the Spirit who patterned his life after our Lord, living the life of a servant.  He was humbly dependent upon God.”  Dr. Billy Graham referred to Harry Denman as “my mentor in evangelism.”

The Harry Denman Evangelism Award will be presented to one clergy and one layperson by our Annual Conference in association with The Foundation for Evangelism.

Our “window’ to identify qualified candidates requires us to receive your recommendation with completed applications by by Feb 14, 2016.  Included in the application are instructions for individuals submitting nominations for either Lay or Clergy recipients.  The requirements are rather time consuming so please begin the process NOW!

The presentation will be made during Annual Conference
